Storm’s Cloudy Victory
April 7th 2008 07:01
Despite Melbourne’s triumphant performance against Brisbane, all focus firmly remains on the god damn CHICKEN.
Serious as the chicken- wing tackle allegation may be to the sport, Adam Blair’s report was not the only highlight of last week’s blockbuster clash against the two sides.
Friday night’s game welcomed the return of ‘lucky charm,’ Michael Crocker and saw Greg Inglis take up his usual starting role.
It also saw the merciless Israel Folau stomp all over his future teammates like a rampaging bull, ending all confusion of where his loyalties will remain during this season.
Not only has the press failed to mention that skipper, Cameron Smith sported a waxed neckline and legs instead of his usual matted fur, they failed to glorify the hat trick of center Anthony Quinn the way they did Slater’s during round one.
No doubt this Friday will see varying forms of ‘The Chicken,’ appear during the grand final rematch. Whether the Storm will liven things up with the ‘chicken-breast feel’ or the ‘Drumstick-poke’ is yet to be known.
Whose feathers will the Storm ruffle next?
