What’s eating Johnathon Thurston? His eyebrows obviously. If the illustrious halfback struggles to find the time to upkeep his…uh…face, it is clear that there must be bigger, possibly even more important things weighing on the skippers mind…other than the upkeep of his eyebrows that is.
The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are where every girl who dreads reading a map ends up…lost. Bottom of the ladder, with ZERO points and embarrassing defeats, it’s no wonder they have not made the trip to their local beauty therapist for a bit of a pick me up. Like seriously, even the Dragons have won a game.
Last week the Cowboys continued their season starting trend, buckling under pressure and leaking tries. Having already bled out 102 points in just three games, Cowboys coach, Graham Murray now faces the bullets previously aimed at Dragons coach, Nathan Brown.
However, it is still early days and not all hope is lost....yet. As long as they have waxers on standby and loyal supporting fans, they may dazzle spectators with the skill and finesse they executed last season, which saw their skipper win the Dally M …despite his eyebrows.
Round 4 will see the struggling Cowboys come face to face with the Eels at Dairy Farmer's Stadium. Whether Thurston’s eyebrows prevent him from executing his trademark kicks or provide him cover from another humiliating defeat is yet to be seen.
